Comic Layout

23rd March 2006

Just a quick sketch of a comic layout for an excerpt from "(chocolate)Mousse and Cheese" --the Manga I am working on with my cousin.

It's a little difficult to understand I suppose, but when I'm sketching I automatically look past the extra lines.

More Sketches

21st March 2006

At the moment, I've got to study for my BGCSE's - High School Finals, so I don't have a lot of time to finish pieces.
I've decided to submit sketches (which I draw while I'msupposed to have my head in the books) until I have time to post something finished.

Conventions

17th March 2006

I would LOVE to go to an anime convention! When I was in Paris last summer I was hoping I could go to the Japan Expo, but it moved to California that year or something ToT; how annoying.
Then DeviantArt had the DeviantArt Summit and TokyoPop had some representatives there scoping out new talent, G4TechTV was there, and many others. That was also in California. It would have been great to go to!! --maybe in a few years, if I save up enough...

I'm finding out about more of theme conventions and such though, so maybe one day I'll be able to go to one - it'd be cool if I could even have a table at one and sell stuff and so on.

Anime Insider has information on approaching conventions in their Connews column each month. Momocon (March 18-19) is free. If I ever get to go to Savannah College of Art and Design, that one would be convenient --cheap and near (good for the college student budget.)

Paintchat

15th March 2006

I love to Paintchat. You draw with other people and you can talk to them at the same time. Here are some PaintChat pictures.

I'll post a few more later.

How To: Create Transparent Images

12th March 2006

Not much to say today, but I figured out how to make images transparent using PSP :)
It goes like so:

1) Open image in PaintShopPro

2) If it is not already a "raster" type layer (eg. background) right-click to promote to layer
click: promote to layer

3) Select the "Magic Wand Tool"

select: magic wand tool
and select the folloring settings:

settings

4) Click on the area of space you want to be transparent (in this case it's the white background colour)-- a dotted line will appear around the selected area.

5) Click delete on your keyboard and right-click anywhere on the image

delete
make sure you get all the areas to be transparent.

7) TADA! "instant" transparency! :D
